Meanwhile, Sarah Gillman sits in her new office, reflecting on her decision to accept the assignment. The weight of her past choices lingers, but the promise of a fresh start fuels her determination. She prepares for a briefing with Domingo, focusing on strategies to foster cooperation with the ambassador and address his complaints.
Sarah was not sure she was ready for what was to come. She had the skills to do the job, but was her mind in the right mind set. Was Domingo right, did she need this? He had a way of seeing in others, before they saw in themselves.
“Commander.” A young voice called out, it was a diplomatic attaché. The young attaché was assigned to assist her with her duties.
“Yes Crewman.” Simply responded Sarah. She looked away from the window and gave the crewman her full attention at the desk she was still sitting at.
“Ambassador Donas Gumar, wanted me to express his disapproval of his quarters. Saying they are to sterile. Yes Commander, I told him to talk to the Eagle Family, as instructed. He believes Starfleet should have to pay for the renovations to his quarters.” The Crewman pointed out to her.
“Did he now?” Sarah said, as she simply nodded her head. “I will talk to him, and remind him if he wants renovations, they will not be coming out of the pockets of the Federation or Starfleet.” Sarah said, knowing darn well that Donas was just postering. He was seeing what he could get away with.
Sarah was surprised for a man that was not even on the station yet, could already complain about the commendation. The nerve of that man!

Life started to feel a little comfortable, and this was a good thing. Domingo wondered if he had made the right choice, was he ready for the Admiralty. He had left a good thing on the USS Lovejoy, and now was a station commander, and he was a Task Force Executive Officer. He was still not use to the new set of pips on his collar. Twin Commodore pips. They felt like an anchor, and he knew he was way over his head.
The saving grace for him was bringing Sarah Gillman back into his circle. They were once lovers, a long time ago. That was another life, and he knew it. Now they were just colleagues, he wondered how she was handling her separation from Paul Gillman? He felt bad about blind siding her with her new role. He knew deep down Sarah would not be happy if she was not helping others. So he made a call, to be brought out to the wild frontier and help him build up the 8th Fleet’s Task Force 99.
“Sir, is there anything else I can get for you for the night?” His crewman asked, as he waited for Domingo to respond.
“I’m good, go home enjoy the night.” Domingo said, knowing his yeoman should not have to burn the midnight oil, just because Domingo did not want to go to his quarters. He was still coping with the transition. And his office felt like home more than that place did.
“I can stay sir, I dont have other plans.” The yeoman said, not wanting to leave Domingo alone. He could see that Domingo seemed a little down.
“I appreciate that, but not necessary. Go have fun, don’t make me make that an order.” Domingo said with a serious look on his face.
“Yes sir.” The yeoman said, as the scene fades away.
