Jaxon along with other members of Dee crew had just listened to her speech. He had a big smile on his face. He was surrounded by members of her senior staff. First there was Lieutenant Junior Grade Tolan Makra, her new first officer. And then their was the Chief of Security, Ensign Lumira. There was also the Chief Science Officer, Ensign Draylon Tisko. And he was also surrounded by the new Chief Medical Officer, Ensign Kyle Robinson.

Kyle was the first one to respond. "Her speech was very inspiring." As he said this, he looked over to Ensign Lisa Read the Chief Flight Control Officer, the two of them shared a nice meal together. At the moment, she was involved in another conversation, and he did not want to be rude and crash it without an invitation.

"Our Captain, seemed a little tense, but that's a good thing. Means she is real, and not some dictator." Lumira pointed out to the group. Her Romulan upbringing did not really allow her much protocol when dealing with humans. She preferred a more direct approach to speaking.

"Do you think the Captain, will really have an open door policy?" Lumira asked, this concept was not really known to her. Normally her immediate superiors, would not welcome civil discourse, or suggestions. They would find it insulting.

Draylon was knew to Starfleet, just completing the academy. But he knew human's. He had a good feeling that he could trust her. "I think she means it, her tone seemed sincere to me."

"I can vouch for her as her husband, and as an officer who has worked with her for several years." Jaxon said, as he looked to to the others especially Lumira. Jaxon was at a loss. He did not know a lot about her race. He knew they were an offshoot of the Romulan people and a lot of them reminded him of Asian dissent, because of their skin tone. He knew they were not Asian, but that's what human's called that type of skin tone. He found the skin tone to be very appealing.

"I have no reason not trust her either." Kyle suggested to the group. He really liked her speech, and believed that she would be the leader they needed, especially since they were still at war with the Klingon Empire.

"She is our commanding officer, and she has an excellent track record." Tolan said, as he looked to the others. He felt that he needed to say something to show support for a lady, who he had yet to meet. "As First Officer, I will make sure all your concerns are addressed."

Jaxon smiled at his response, and was grateful of the words that Talon just said.

"I love the fact that she is willing to have an open door, it shows great strength in her leadership, that she is willing to hear anyone out, and willing to consider their suggestions." Talon continued on.

"I have the same expectations as the captain. Do you jobs well, if you have suggestions for improvement. Go through me, I will make sure you get the credit that you need." Talon pointed out to the crew.

"You can count on me sir, I'm very by the book. But I think I'm supposed to be in my line of work." Lumira point it out, as she went on. "Back home we prided ourselves on our security. We also provided ourselves on our family culture. You will I'll be a part of my extended family. I'll treat you all with the utmost respect and I will support any decision to Captain or first officer makes." Lumira pointed out hoping she didn't sound too arrogant, she was just trying to show everybody else that she would treat them like family.

"I appreciate that and respect that, now do I call you instant or do I call you by your name?" Kyle asked, he didn't want to be disrespectful to her.

"Rank is too formal, I prefer my name in settings like this." Lumira suggested to him, then she went on to say. "That goes for all of you, I prefer my name in settings like this over my rank."

"If you would ask me a year ago but it said call me by my last name but I believe that we should have some kind of chain of command. It doesn't mean that I won't build friendships with you guys. But I prefer lieutenant or sir."

"That makes sense, I would be a little skeptical if you said to call you by your name and not your rank. As first officer you were in the right." Draylon pointed out to the first officer.

Lumira chimed in. "I'm always skeptical, but I'm also trying to be trusting. I believe in candor. I think it comes from our cultural background. A long time ago we learned that it's better to be candor and straight to the point versus trying to beat around the bush, I believe that's how the human say it." Lumira chimed in.

"Nicely said." Tolan said, as he looked over Draylon Tisko the Chief Science Officer.

"I prefer Draylon as well sir." He said, he noticed the first officer looking to him. Like the others he was excited and motivated by the captain's speech, and he was inspired by the first officer speech as well.

"I am pretty laid back, can not wait to get my hands dirty in research and development. The breakthroughs we discover will be amazing." He said, with a big smile on his face. "I know it will be a team effort, but together I know we will make some great discoveries, and win this war against the Klingon Empire."

"I am curious to, but a lot of the ships in our fleet are old, we are going to have to find creative ways to bring them up to par, and have them help us in the war against the empire." Lumira suggested, as the scene starts to fade with everyone talking about the what if's with possibilities. They all knew they would not have answers till they started the work.
