Mission: Turn The Page
Location: Port Royale Transporter Room 4
Timeline: January 15, 2397, 1445 hrs

Location: USS Rainmaker, Transporter Room

"Well Commander Gillman, we are on final approach." The Duty officer, said as the USS Rainmaker made her final approach to the station. Unlike the Lovejoy, she was not docking, only beaming over one crew member. Sarah was not able to hitch a ride on a transport, or on the USS Lovejoy. She was returning from Vulcan, and her Captain was dropping Sarah off as a favor to Commodore Martinez.

Sarah was not sure why her ex boyfriend, was calling her to serve under his command. She felt the timing of this all was a little to soon. She was still technically married to Senator Paul Gillman, that was only a technicality, at this point. She filed the paperwork, to begin the motion for divorce.

Sarah walked onto the transporter padd of the intrepid class starship they called Rainmaker. The ship's duty officer, also happened to be the transporter chief. "Are you ready Commander?" She asked, waiting for Sarah to signal she was ready for transport. She knew how sensitive some people could be.

"Yes chief," Sarah said, as she beamed over to the Starbase Port Royale. She dematerialized on the Rainmaker and reappeared on the starbase. Once she did, she noticed that Domingo was waiting for her.

Location: Port Royale, Transporter Room

"Commodore Martinez, fancy meeting you here." She said, trying to show a big smile. She knew he wanted something from her, but she was not sure what it was.

Domingo grinned, he could tell that she was annoyed. And rightfully so, she did not ask for this assignment. She had tried to request some time off, but Domingo needed her talents, as a diplomat to help him on this station. "Welcome Port Royale. How was your flight over Ma'dam Senator?" Domingo asked, as he reached for her hand to help her off the transporter padd.

"Uneventful, which was nice for a change. And its just Mrs Gillman, I resigned from the Senate." Sarah said as she took his hand, and walked down the transporter padd. Domingo was always a gentleman, but she could not help but what wonder what her mission was on the station. All she was told, was that he needed some consultation from the former senator of Nova Terra 3. She had recently reassigned her seat, after she found out about her husband's affair.

"Miss Gillman does not really suit you, how about Commander Sanchez, pending your divorce, it will have to be Commander Gillman." Domingo said, with a big grin on his face.

"Less than a week ago, I resigned my position, and you want to offer me a new position?" Sarah asked Domingo with a questionable look on her face. "Really Dom, I could have saved you the hassle, I am going to take a short leave of absence from politics." Sarah said, finally happy she knew the reason he called her to the station. But still annoyed, for the reason.

"You know the situation better than most, Sarah. I need someone of your caliber. And let's be honest, you need this." Domingo said, hoping she was not going to challenge him on this?

"Do I need this?" Sarah asked, with a skeptical eye. The only thing she needed was time away from the senate and from Paul. He kept calling her, almost to the point of harassment. And now apparently Domingo was under the impression that she needed this assignment. Boy was he mistaken.

"Yes, you need time away from Paul, this is the last place he would come, because of all the hostility in the area. A perfect place for you to heal and move on. And still be of service to starfleet." Domingo said, with a big grin on his face.

"How long did you practice that line Dom?" Sarah asked, thinking nice delivery on his part. A small part of what he said, made sense.

"Longer than I want to admit too, so what do you say Commander?" Domingo asked, hoping she would say yes to his request for her transfer assignment. She had been through a lot, and she needed this as much as he needed her skills as a diplomat.

"How long are we talking, a few months permanent?" Sarah asked. She was still hesitant to commit to him, or to this station.

"Either or." Domingo said with a grin.

"Let's start with a few months, I might as well give it a try. I am already here." Said Sarah with a grin on her face. She was a little nervous about taking the assignment. "I guess Lieutenant Commander Sarah Gillman, reporting for duty, sir."

"Starfleet is meritoriously promoting you to Commander, you are more than qualified. Especially after being a former senator, and starfleet officer."

Sarah left Starfleet as a Lieutenant, and was coming back as a full commander. She was a little surprised, when she heard him say commander, she assumed Lieutenant Commander. The scene starts to fade.

Domingo and Sarah begin to walk away from the transporter room, as the scene fades.
