"Everything is going according to plan." Called out the Gul Ramor, as he looked over to Gul Kardek with a grin on his face. The CUS Dentus, was on final approach to it's undisclosed location. They had picked up Gul Typhon Prenar, a legend in the cardassian society. He was revered and feared, and for good reason.
Kardek just grin, as he allowed Ramor to continue on speaking. He was pleased that Prenar, had agreed to meet with their resistance movement, a movement they were now calling, The True Way Alliance. "I want to meet with Prenar as soon as he arrives on the station, am I clear?" Kardek stated in an stern tone.
"It will be done." Ramor said, as he bowed to their fearless, to show him the proper respected he was given. He knew Kardek, rewarded loyalty and graveling. Ramor, was hoping that he had proven his loyalty to Kardek. If he did, Kardek was not telling him. He still kept Ramor at arms length. Which annoyed him.
Kardek did appreciate loyalty from Ramor, but he was not going to allow him to get close to him. He was suspicious of everyone. He knew not to trust anyone, and he would never get hurt.
"Is our mole planted on that new Federation Station?" Kardek asked as he walked over to the command terminal? He wanted a mole on the station. The Detapa Council was sending a representative to the station, and Kardek wanted intel, it was part of the reason he reached out to Typhon Prenar. If his rebellion was going to work, he would need a viable mole.
"Yes the mole has arrived on the station." Said Ramor with a big grin on his face. Getting the mole to the station, was not that easy, but the mole had slipped by the Federation and the Cardassian intelligence agencies, he was not sure if the mole slipped passed the Klingons intelligence agency. He was not sure, but he did not put much faith in klingon intelligence, they were barbaric idiots, or so he thought. They only cared about conquest, and kissing up to the Federation.
"CUS Dentus, is requesting to beam over Gul Typhon Prenar." Said Ramor with a big grin on his face. He was eager to meet the legend, the myth. He knew he could learn a lot from Prenar.
Typhon had been lying low since the Dominion War ended and destroyed his beloved Cardassia, his beloved Order. He had used the time to rebuild, to make connections, and most of all find his son. The years slowly passed and Prenar built his power he even managed to gain control of a station in the Badlands. The chips stacked for the old man of the order. He found that others felt similar to him, and some were in Starfleet and thus a new set of operatives. The New Obsidian Order was born.
Finally the time came when Typhon heard that his son was being transferred to the Starbase Port Royale, and to be the second in command no less. This may have sounded like pride from a father to son, however, it was not. It was hatred and burning for the elder to see the younger dead. Shortly after the news of his son came in a second stroke of good news came in. A group of Cardassian "terrorists" calling themselves the True Way Alliance needed a mole and wanted to meet with him. Of course the need for the mole was not public knowledge, but the order always had it's ways.
Thusly Typhon Prenar came to find himself on a transporter pad about to be beamed over to the True Way's vessel. He also sent his only daughter undercover on the station. She was everything that the old Cardassian wanted in a spy and once more no one would know because of her Bajoran heritage it was easy to make her look like one of the lesser species. Of course she hated it but that was duty, and Shoshannah knew duty. She went to Port Royale as a mole for the True Way, but she was in actuality a mole for her father, and reported to him above all others. "Energize..." Typhon said stoically, the time was ripe for the puppet master to take control again.
Gul Kardek and Gul Ramor went to meet the infamous Typhon Prenar, as he beamed in, Kardek gave a slight bow. "Thank you for coming Gul Prenar. And Welcome to Headquarters of The True Way. For to long the Detapa Council has led us astray, we seek wisdom and a favor." Kardek, said, waiting to hear what Typhon had to say.
Typhon had no patience for flowery speech and groveling. He nodded curtly as he stepped off the transporter pad. The old Cardassian wore the uniform of the Obsidian Order, in his view the one true uniform of Caradassia. "Very well then let us cut to the chase. What information do you seek?" He stood there and looked around. The headquarters looked outdated but in order, if the rest of this place looked as good as the transporter room then it will due nicely.
"Very well lets cut to the chase. You know why I have asked for you. I am hoping you will assist us. And before you ask what's in it for you, we both know your son is on that station." Gul Kardek, with a straight and serious tone. He appreciated Typhon's directness.
All of this was of disinterest to Typhon. They mentioned his whelp like it was supposed to peak his interest and yet he already knew that. That is why he sent his daughter to the station, well that and to get these people under his control. "That man is NOT my son, he is merely my whelp and you will do well to remember that. I have not interest in what is in it for me at least not for the moment. The Order always collects. What I am interested in is why you need me. What is it that you need help. Just come out with it and I will tell you if I am interested. Let us stop posturing shall we?"
"I know you are rebuilding the Obsidian Order, I need a mole on that station, someone who can report back sensitive information back to us, to help the True Way, and I have no doubt in part it will help your order gather vital intelligence." Stated Kardek with a twisted grin on his face. He was straight and to the point, just like the legendary Typhon asked him to be.
Typhon glared at the man for a moment, and then suddenly a maniacal smile crept across his face. "Before I address that request there are some things we need to discuss. For example, I need to know what exactly do you intend to accomplish, what are your assets, your resources etc... I do not believe that a transporter room is the best place to conduct this business." Of course the puppet master of the Order already had all of that information. What he was curious to find out was whether or not these people would dare to lie to him.
Kardek had no interest in sharing sensitive information like that with Typhon. But he motioned with his hand for Typhon to follow him. "This way, there is a bottle of Kanar waiting for us in my ready room." Kardek said as they started to leave the transporter padd.
Typhon followed the other two into an office, he chose not speak a word until they had arrived. Typhon instead took the time to soak in all that this group had to offer. Well at least as much as he could see. When they arrived the Kanar was poured. Typhon was an old man of the Order he knew better than to drink from a glass that was handed to you. So he took meticulous care in watching the glasses get poured, he made sure that all three were poured from the same bottle, and even then he did not take a sip until the other two men did. "I deal on one for one basis gentlemen. I will tell you something and then you tell me etc... So allow me to get the ball rolling quickly. You are looking for someone to go undercover on Port Royale. I have just the agent, all I need from you is what exactly you would like to know, or what the agent should be looking for. Now, I would like to know what are your strongest assets?"
"The Jem'Ha'Dar are the strongest asset we have." Kardek said with a grin, as he looked around the room, at the guards, just standing their, ready to strike at any moment. They were bread for one purpose, to fight. Kardek, could tell that Typhon was trying to asses their assets, but to what end? What was his end game?
Typhon was indeed impressed, it took a lot to keep Jem Ha'Daar in line. Especially now that they had access to the white themselves. That was something that he would would want to know, but it could wait. For now Port Royale was the center of attention. "Alright, so tell me what this agent should be looking for." A look of disdain crept across his face. A political game of chess had begun and he planned on winning.
"The standard espionage deal. We all need trade deal information's, back end deals not being publicized. Political and alliance movements, you know the standard. Ambassador Gumar, is a politician not a spy. He might get lucky once in a while. But if your order is going to strive and the True Way is going to survive, we need to gather as much information as we can. " Kardek said with a twisted grin on his face.
Typhon tilted his head toward the man. He thought it best to let Kardek think he had won for the time being. "You do realize that the return of the Obsidian Order means a return to Central Command. I want to make crystal clear that we are on the same page. It is my understanding that your organization stands for a return to Central Command as well. However, in my vision it is the Order that has the power. As it was then, it shall be now. Is that understood." Typhon's voice bilked no argument. They would either agree with him, or they would be against him.
"Central Command is weak, a new order needs to be established ,a true order, true way alliance. We learned a lot from the Dominion. Their only down fall, was excluding the obsidian order, and not utilizing them more. Even you have to see the central command was always doomed to fail." Kardek said, with greed in his eyes.
"Central Command was weak. However, there needs to be a figure head. Someone that the people can turn to and think are in charge. Without that you cannot control the people. Controlling the people is what is best for the Union. So you see a new order does not have to be established. We already have one The Obsidain Order. The other question that I have is how do you intend to get around Starfleet?" Typhon spoke with venom in his voice. He rather disliked the tone of voice that Kardek was using. Someone would have to put that whelp into his place.
Kardek was not interested in returning the old weak ways, he was more interested in creating the true cardassian government. The Dominion had the right idea, but were trapped in their old ways. they did not adapt. Kardek knew, you can not kill the Federation, you must subvert them from within. "The humans have a saying, one appropriate for answering your question." Kardek said, as he paused for a moment for dramatic flair. "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." He said, not really sharing how he was planning on doing that. The first step was getting a mole on the station, the next step was subversion.
Typhon did not like speaking in cliches, it was one of the reasons that he hated humans. "Listen you want me to provide a mole. You want me to risk my assets then you will submit to my command and my way of doing things. If not all the best to you and your new order." He was done playing they would either come to heel or they wouldn't, you were either with Typhon or against him.
"Escort our guest, back to the transporter room. He will be leaving." Kardek said, he had no time for postering and ego stroking. His plans really did not need a mole, but it could have been benefitted greatly from it. Instead he could go with plan b, an infiltration unit, there were still a few founders left in the Alpha Quadrant, and their new home world was a well kept secret. Kardek would have preferred to keep the Dominion at bay with his new orders, but Typhon was set to return to the failed old ways, and they needed to progress forward, new thinkings, and new ideas. The True Way Alliance was here to stay. Right now they had troops on Cardassia. It was only a matter of time before they seized power. Kardek had no idea that Councilor Garak had reached out to Captain Malbrooke of the USS Pioneer for assistance.
Typhon had no interest in playing games with a terrorist organization. So he turned and followed the other man to the transporter room. However, this meeting did give the Gul an edge. He now knew the True Way was attempting to make a come back and as such he could squash them as well. As he stepped on the transporter pad he saw that everything was coming together nicely, his son would even be there. A smirk crawled across his face as paused on the pad expecting someone from the True Way to come crawling back.
Typhon's old ways were doomed to fail. And Kardek knew it. He could not believe that Typhon was to foolish to see it. Now it was time to go to plan b. Have the Dominion help infiltrate the station, with their own agent. Would have been nice to have his resources, but his old ways were just that, old and dying.
The scene ends.
