Act 3: The Eagles Soar In

Mission: VFY S1, E4: Webs Of Deceit
Location: Eagle Runabout

Nicole stirred from her nap, she’d been taking advantage of the trip to Port Royale Station to catch up on the rest she needed. Sitting up on the bed in the back of the Eagle Runabout she suddenly realised the Runabout wasn’t moving, getting up off the bed She massaged her back being six months pregnant with twins certainly took its toll on her back muscles and body but after all the disappointments she and JJ had in the past she was loving it. She walked through to the front of the Runabout and looked at JJ. “Having problems with the Runabout my love?”

JJ was laying on his back, his feet poking out from under one of the consoles of the bridge of the runabout. The lavage white leather seats where designed for maximum comfort. "I managed to install that special item in your seat, just press the one button on the arm rest and it should start." his hand poked out as he gestured to her seat. He had made hers extra large with even more stuffing in the seatings to make sure she had the best seat in the shuttle. It wasn't the best seat to pilot because you needed to sit straight, but it was perfect for a pregnant woman.

Nicole sat in her seat and pressed the button her eyes widened in surprise as the chair reclined to a comfortable angle and a gentle, yet satisfying massage began. "Oohhh that is wonderful JJ!!" She breathed a sigh of satisfaction as her aching back was massaged. Even the two tiny babies inside her seemed to quieten at the sensations.

John smiled and with a yank pulled something out from the console. "Got it..." crawling out from under the console he stood up. "Sneaky bastards." he held up a black box with a few wires coming out from it. "Tracking device. I was lucky I caught it using our communication system."

"But how did it get aboard in the first place?" Nicole looked at her husband with concern. "I thought our security system was supposed to be state of the art? Someone obviously got past it." She pressed the button on her seat and let the chair go upright again. "All I want is a relatively normal life for us now, we've got the twins on the way and I don't want to be worrying about anything else."

"Yes, it is. But you know as well as I do that no matter how good our security system is, it can always be cracked. Don't worry, I will be sure to plug any holes that caused this." JJ walked up to the replicator, created a led box that would contain the tracker, then he placed inside and sealed it. "I'll be sure to have a look at this later." he placed the box on the side, took a seat at the pilot seat and they continued on to their journey. "We should arrive in about an hour. You hungry?"

“We...” She grinned as she rested her hand on her large rounded stomach. “Are starving!” She smiled. “You know once I’ve had these girls I’m seriously going to need to get back to peak fitness, although I’ve no doubt you’ll help me with that.”

He smiled and walked back to the replicator, getting her a plate with all the food groups needed for the healthy development of the children, everything from peas to juice. "Here you go."

“Thank you” Nicole smiled and tucked in, starting off with the juice and taking polite bites of various foods in her own choosy order. “I don’t know... what I’d do without you JJ” she grinned as she looked at him. “Once we get to the station we’re going to have to get on with sorting the nursery in our quarters, the last doctor I saw did mention that we might need to deliver slightly earlier depending on how the growth of the twins goes. I’ve only got a maximum of three months if I go full time.”

"I think you would be out there causing trouble." He smiled as he put the shuttle on autopilot. "I don't think our expenses will cripple us." The pair had been steeling things since they where very young and the two were always smart about the selling of said items. So they had substantial resources.

“It’s good we’re used to covering tracks JJ” Nicole smiled warmly. “I dread to think what would happen if any of our enemies got wind of our identities. We’ll also have to be careful how much of our wealth we throw around on this station, we don’t want to be raising any suspicions.” She gently reached for his hand and placed it on her stomach with a smile. “Feel...” She smiled. “I swear these girls kick like champion football players! I feel like my stomach is a battle ground some days!”

He smiled as he felt a kick. "Well, they have their fathers strength. I bet they have their mothers grace." he reached over to the console and soft music started to play in the cockpit. "Maybe we can get them back to sleep."

“At this time in the morning? I doubt it!” She smiled. “They’re not even born yet and they’ve already got set sleeping patterns!” She grinned. “Right now isn’t one of them, this is more ultra active time! Although how they find room to move around amazes me! Why don’t you try talking to them I’m sure they’d enjoy it.”

"Well, I could sing along with the music." he kissed the round belly that contained the miracles that was their children. "Would you like that?"

"You know I love it when you sing JJ" She smiled warmly. "It's one of the many reasons I fell in love with you in the first place." She gently ran her fingers through his hair.

"Oh really? I thought it was for my amazing looks." he teased, the song that came through the speakers where one for his favorite bands. Old earth. 'It's a kind of magic' by queen. He sang along with the music, but at a more lullaby tone.

Nicole grinned as she listened to him singing, he had a voice that leant itself to all kinds of songs and she loved to listen to him. She waited for the song to finish before giving him a round of applause. “So how long is it going to be before we reach Starbase Port Royale?”

JJ smiled and looked at his antique wristwatch. "I would say about 45 minutes." he moved up and kissed his lovely wife on her lips.

Nicole returned his kiss with added passion. “Is that 46 minutes that the auto pilot can manage?” She grinned a wry grin as she slid her arms around his neck. “I’m sure we could make good use of the time.”

He sucked some air through his teeth and made a face that showed him the effect her words had on him. "Oh you minx. I think we have about thirty minutes or so..." grinned he picked her out of the chair with ease and he carried her back towards the bath area. "I think a nice warm bath will do us both good."

“Well it’s not exactly what I had in mind but it’ll do!” She grinned playfully as she held on around his neck as he carried her.

"Oh I know, but who says you can't kill two birds with one stone?" he came to their bathing area, a Jacuzzi just large enough for two was inside as well as a sink and the toilet was in the corner.

“Are we both going to fit now I’m....” She motioned to her bump. “This big!”

"Oh trust me. I'll make us fit." he grinned and wiggled his eyebrows.

Nicole laughed she absolutely loved the way he wiggles his eyebrows at her. “Then do show me!” She slid out of her clothing and put it to one side off the floor so it wouldn’t get wet.

He removed his own clothes, folded right next to hers before he turned on the water. As it was filling, he looked over at his wife, her long fire red hair covered her chest just enough and he huffed at the sight. "You are too damn sexy for your own good."

“Well I only have eyes for you my love” She smiled as she looked at him. “Besides I can definitely say the same for you, that handsome body of yours always was a draw for me.”

"Well. Shall we?" he gestured for the Jacuzzi and offered her his hand to aid her getting in to the water.

“Thank you” Nicole took his hand and carefully stepped into the tub and made herself comfortable. “How do you plan on fitting in with me?”

"Come now. This thing is large enough for two with comfort, but even if you are a little round around the midsection, we can still fit." he stepped in as well and positioned himself between her and the side, essentially allowing her to sit in his lap.

“A little round in the midsection!” She grinned. “Have you seriously stopped to look at me? I’m huge!!” She lay back against his chest. “I’m not complaining though, I never thought we’d see the day when I’d be having a baby after the miscarriages I had before. I’m just happy for this miracle.”

"Your not huge. Your sexy..." he kissed her neck.

“Thank you JJ” Her smile beamed. “You always did know how to make me feel better.”

"Your welcome my baby."

She let herself relax against him letting the water come as high up on her stomach as she could. She enjoyed a relaxing bath especially with JJ.
