Mission:
VFY S9, E1: We Have A Home
Location: Various Locations
Timeline: Current
Location: Starbase Taneran, CO Ready Room
Deezell was sitting in her office, reviewing her notes from the previous meeting and planning her next one with her colleagues in the Research and Development Department.
Pausing for a sip of coffee, she gazed at the polished silver frame containing a photograph of her family. She recalled Jaxon talking about his new assignment as Executive Officer aboard the USS Athena, under Fleet Captain Quinn Ó Flannagáin. She was so proud of him and how far he had come since they first met back on Starbase 400.
The more she thought about it, the more she realised that they would be spending long periods apart. She remembered the first time they were separated, which had coincided with her first encounter with the Borg and the discovery that she was pregnant with their son, Velo. Being away from Jaxon had made an already stressful time so much worse.
Things had changed so much since then, bringing marriage and their daughter, Lara. Both of them had grown as individuals and as a couple, yet she still couldn't help feeling a slight pang of unease at the thought of being without him.
She set her cup back down onto its coaster and reached for the comms panel.
=^= Vox to Ruveer. Darling, are you free at the moment? Can we talk in my office? =^=
Jaxon was surprised to hear from Dee, as he tapped on his communicator he said. =A="Give me ten minutes, need to beam over from the Athena, see you soon my love."=A= Jaxon said, wondering why she wanted to see him, before the end of their shift.
=^=No rush darling, see you soon. =^= Dee replied back.
Location: USS Athena, CO Ready Room
The dim light of the ready room cast a warm glow over the polished table, where Fleet Captain Quinn Ó Flannagáin sat, his fingers steepled in thought. Lieutenant Jaxon Ruveer stood before him, a mix of determination and vulnerability etched across his face. Quinn noticed the seriousness in Jaxon’s demeanor, a puzzling intensity that hinted at something deeper. It was clear that whatever weighed on his mind was urgent.
“Captain, before we set off on this mission, I need to see my wife,” Jaxon said, his voice steady but laced with urgency.
He paused, his brow furrowing. “She wanted to talk to me about something important, but didn’t want to discuss it over subspace. I can’t shake the feeling that it’s something serious.”
Quinn leaned back in his chair, studying Jaxon for a moment. “I understand, Jaxon. Love doesn’t pause for duty. It’s in those moments, just before we embark on a mission, that we truly feel the weight of our choices.”
Jaxon felt a knot tightening in his stomach. He had a gut feeling that Dee was planning something reckless—like taking the USS Bushido to track down the Red Kite and confront the pirates herself. If he didn’t stop her, she might make a decision that could endanger her life. He needed to make sure she knew he would support her, no matter what.
“Captain, how can I just sit back and watch her take on such a risk?” he asked, desperation creeping into his voice.
Quinn regarded him with understanding. “Perhaps she needs to complete this mission on her own, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be close by to assist her if the situation arises. We can be there, ready to intervene if she needs us.”
Jaxon’s heart raced at the captain’s suggestion. The idea of being nearby, prepared to help, ignited a flicker of hope. “You believe she’s going after the pirates, too?” he asked, intrigued.
Quinn said with his tone steady. “Trust in her strength, just as she trusts in yours.”
A small smile began to break through Jaxon’s earlier tension. “It’s just so easy to forget that amidst the chaos.”
“Remember, Jaxon,” Quinn encouraged, “love is what gives us strength. It’s what helps us face the unknown. Trust in that bond, and in the promise you’ve made to each other.”
Taking a deep breath, Jaxon felt the weight on his shoulders lift just a bit. “Thank you, Captain. I really appreciate your understanding.”
“Go. See what she wants. We will be ready to depart as soon as you get back.” Quinn said, a gentle smile playing on his lips. “And remember, when you’re out there, she’ll be with you, every step of the way.”
Location: Starbase Taneran, Transporter Room
Jaxon beamed aboard the station, waiting to see Dee. He anticipated that she would be waiting for him to arrive on the station.
The doors of the transporter room opened as Dee came through.
"Sorry I am late my love. Got held up. "
"Station keeping you busy?" Jaxon asked with a loving smile on his face. He was curious to know why she was late, when she asked for the meeting. He had a sneaky suspicion it was to go over her duties while she left on the USS Bushido.
"You could say that. Let's talk in my office, ok?"
"Okay, you have me a little worried." Jaxon said, fearing his conversation with his captain was about to become facts, and no longer theory.
Location: Starbase Taneran, CO Ready Room
After they arrived in her office and the doors had closed. She held him in her arms.
" I should be used to us being parted by the very nature of our jobs but ever time I still feel uneasy. I just wanted to be with you before you left on the Athena. I'm told you are going after the Red Kite. Bring them to justice."
"If we can, yes that is our ultimate goal but or at least hoping to scare them out of the area personally I want to bring them to justice." Jaxon said, being a little biased because of his own personal feelings about their Captain had taken advantage of his wife. And because all the atrocities they had committed as pirates.
"So do I, my love. He needs to pay for what he did. " she replied, holding back tears.
"I will do my best to bring him in." Jaxon said, as they stood their for a moment, near the sofa. He reached for her soft delicate hands. "Were going to get him." Jaxon said, more trying to convince himself than her.
She smiled at him. " Computer, lock doors." There was a clunk as the doors locked.
She led him go the sofa where she let him sit down first so she could then sit next to him and he could hold her in his arms, whilst she rested her head on his chest.
"Locking me in? Nice move Captain!" Jaxon said in a teasing voice. He liked the idea of being locked in her ready room. Now they just needed the cameras offline.
"I call it the Deezell Manoeuvre. I just wanted no interruptions whilst we have a bit of us time, and before you ask, I cannot override the security cameras," she smirked.
"So how much time do we have?" Jaxon asked, hoping they had a little bit of time to fool around. He was hoping to at least steal a few kisses, but hoping for more time. But also realizing that the children would be out of school soon.
"We have about 20 minutes before we have get moving for the kids coming out of school. So hurry up and kiss me, handsome."
Jaxon grabbed her once again, and picked her up and placed her on the sofa. They locked lips, as the passion between them rose. They started to kiss and practically rip each others close off, as the scene fades away.
15 minutes later...
"I did not think we could pull that off so quickly." Jaxon teased, as they started to get dressed. They tossed each other their clothes as they went around her ready room trying to quickly get dressed.
"You were so wild, my god, that was so good." Once dressed, she helped him finish dressing."We best get going."
"We did not have much time. And I wanted to be close to you." He said as he allowed her to dress him up. "We make a good team."
"Dam right we do."
"I'm going to find him, but don't worry. I'll make sure he rots in your brig." Jaxon said, as she finished getting him dressed.
"I know you will, honey. "
"He has been attacking our shipping lines for too long without repercussion. Our new yards would have been a little faster if we weren't constantly having to chase him off." Jaxon said, he wasn't sure why the pirates were preventing the better agent. They weren't aligned with the Klingons because they were also attacking them too.
" Jurlan and his gang have clearly gotten much worse since my encounter. They have become much more bolder in their antics. I am worried what they might do next if. You don't suppose they know I'm with VFY and that's why they are here? I personally doubt it but anything is possible."
Dee wasn't happy having to deal with Jurlan and his gang. It made her feel uneasy and with her new job and responsibilities, it's the last thing she needed.
"That man has been a nuisance in both of our sites for too long. You got rid es at first she was all business but, after hearing what he did to you now personal and he's going to pay." Jaxon said is turning his conviction in his body language was sincere.
" Hey. Look at me here, You're my everything. Jurlan has to pay but not at the cost of me loosing you. I need the love of my life and Velo and Lara need their loving daddy. He's dangerous and unpredictable. So please be careful. "
"He should fear us, for too long you've been praying on the weak and that needs to stop." Jaxon said, he was tired of the man, terrorizing other people.
" Yes. Mmm yes he should. " She was getting a little fidgety. She hadn't seen this side of him. He was so masculine, brave, forceful and fearless. So hot. She could feel herself getting flustered.
"I wish I could stay longer, but we have a lead on the Red Kite." Jaxon said to her, but being very vague on the details. He knew they had to leave soon, but he could not leave her, without her knowing, they were going to get him. And to make sure the USS Bushido does not go after him. She had responsibilities to the fleet yards and to her station.
She sighed. "I understand. Just promise me three things. One, you get that bastard Jurlan and his gang, bringing them to justice. Two, you come home safe. And finally three, when you get back, I want you to tap into that energy you had there and ravish me."
"The last option will make sure I come home, nothing is going to get in my way. Not even Jurlan." He said, with a hunger for desire in his eyes.
"Good." She moved in close to him, so that she was right there in front of him. The scent of her perfume wafting up his nostrils. She ran her hand gently through his hair, around his ear and down his cheek, feeling his slight stubble. "You better come back to me." She said as she adjusted her posture to elevate her bosom.
"I will." Jaxon said as he stole a last kiss. The scene fades away.
