Mission: VFY S9, E1: We Have A Home
Location: SB Taneran. Dee's Office
Timeline: Current

As the staff for the Research and Development station was still being sorted out, Dee had to rely on others from Port Royale or, in this case, the Corps of Engineers.

She taps the coms panel on her desk.

"Vox to Hunter. You're probably busy but when you have, say 5-10 mins spare, no rush, could you visit my office for a quick chat? I promise it will be quick. Thanks. "

A muffled, "acknowledged," came through the comms, then they went quiet.

One Hour Later

D'ana walked down the corridor quickly, following the computer's directions, going over her next checklist on the padd strapped to her left hand as she stopped in front of the indicated door and rang the chime.

Upon hearing the chime, she swallowed the sip of coffee before answering.

"Come on in."

As the doors opened, D'ana stepped inside and walked up to the desk. "What can I do for you, Commander?"

"Well, firstly, thanks for coming at such short notice. It's greatly appreciated. Secondly, we are still trying to sort a Chief Engineer for Teneran Station, which is somewhat difficult for some reason, so I wondered if you knew anyone you could recommend? Either someone you know whom you have worked with or someone on your team who might be ready for that career progression. "

D'ana consulted her padd. "I have Lieutenant T'Perr listed. I put her in for recommendation a week ago, or so I thought. I suppose I need to check up on Lieutenants Indus and M'ren as well," she said, half to herself, making notes on her padd. After a moment she looked back up. "Anyway, as I was saying, Lieutenant T'Perr is qualified, experienced, and so far has risen to every task I've set to her. I can have her here immediately," she said.

Dee smiled. " That would be fantastic. Much appreciated. Is there anything I or my department can do for you and yours? " She asked.

"I've no doubt this will be one of the few times I'll be saying this in my career," D'ana said, "but we are relatively well set right now. New power cores are installed, inventories are full, and the new facilities on Port Royale are coming along. Once my engineering assignments are set and my people in place, we'll begin our work here as well. At this rate, I may even have a full night's sleep by the end of the week."

" Wow a full night's sleep. For me with two young children and a husband who fidgets in his sleep, full night's sleep are a rare breed. If you manage it, I may well be envious. "

Dee laughed.

" Well, again, thank you very much indeed for sorting out the transfer of Lieutenant T'Perr. I won't keep you further from your work. "

The scene fades out.
